STRENGTHENING
RELATIONSHIPS
THAT MATTER
MOST
It’s hard to admit when we need help with parenting. Society expects us to just know how to parent our children the “right” way…
Struggle with our child/ren can lead to feelings of inadequacy, powerlessness, guilt, regret, and reactivity. This can lead to disconnection and the feeling that we are not good at this parenting role.
However, the reality is that we are not taught how to be the kind of parents that most of us long to be, so we end up parenting from reaction. When we parent without working through our own history, we repeat painful patterns that we experienced as children even if we want to do things differently, creating conflict instead of connection.
No matter what is happening in the relationship currently, or how disenchanted you feel about parenting, there is a way to move forward. It’s never too late to turn things around. It can be difficult to see a different way but there is one!
MEET Calista
I am the proud mother of a boy who is twice exceptional and a girl whose inner being is bursting with creativity and life. These two amazing people continually delight me, and challenge me and my thinking, while urging me forward on my own path of growth. I am constantly re-defining the WHY behind my actions in all parts of life, as my parenting permeates me.
Additionally, in 2000, I earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology. I worked in private practice with children ages 1-18 for many years before settling into a preschool setting. For the past 10 years, I have worked in early childhood evaluations within school districts. This broad experience of working with a variety of children and families has gifted me with knowledge and insights into how the young brain works, as well as what can assist or deter brain development. I am an avid believer in experiential learning for all ages, even adults.
Being brought up in a divorced home, with both a “power-over” and “power-under” family dynamic, had a significant impact on my social and emotional development. In addition, upon having my first child, I discovered that I was not prepared to be a parent. As I searched for knowledge and support, I was shocked by the amount of conflicting parenting information available. It left me feeling incredibly lost and vulnerable. With time, I have earned a secure attachment to myself, which has been invaluable to me and my family.
I became a parent coach to guide parents to feelings of expansive possibility and empowerment, through alignment of their decisions to personal values, which strengthens the connection with their child/ren while building integrity and trust through understanding. This allows for more lightness, harmony, and joy in the relationship.
You will be met with compassion and non-judgement. I want to truly hear where your struggle lies while offering support. Let’s re-imagine our parenting approach by re-defining conflict, and shifting the energy around it, to establish a different kind of meaningful relationship with your child/ren.

In just 12 weeks together, CAlista coached me to integrate techniques into my parenting that have made such a positive impact on my relationship with my two children. Every week Calista would answer questions i had and create threads for me between concepts to see the connections. I really valued her calm, present and grounded approach to coaching. I now have a framework to understand what i bring to parenting and a toolbox for how to handle difficult situations with my kids. Calista has given me the foundational knowledge to on-going, life-long improvement of myself as a parent.
